Research

My current research focuses on understanding essential mechanisms of endo- and exocytosis in the eukaryotic model organism S. cerevisae.

"The awesome power of yeast genetics" combined with high resolution yeast electrophysiology, i.e. measuring membrane capacitance in the cell attached patch-clamp configuration, provides a unique system that is used in our lab to understand the function of components involved in the fission/fusion events and the molecular basis of regulation of endo-/exocytosis in yeast.
